Location features

Local markets and shopping

For stocking up on your daily essentials there is a mini market a short drive from the villa. Alternatively, in the maze of narrow streets of the Roman walled old town of Alcudia, you'll find 2 weekly markets where you can purchase fresh locally grown almonds, dried chillies, meats, vegetables plus cultural gems. The marina also has a nightly craft market where you can purchase some local trinkets, fashionable clothing and artisan products to remember your Majorcan holiday by. The more traditional markets in Pollensa old town and Sa Pobla on a Sunday are also well worth a visit.

Bars and restaurants

You really have the best of both worlds in this area, with small bistros and relaxed chill out bars along the unspoilt coastline of Bonaire. Yet the bustling Port of Alcudia is only a short drive away, with the stylish marina and its trendy bistros and charming waterside bars. The historic Old Town is also close by with many chic eateries and boutique cafes offering local dishes, situated in the charming ancient cobbled streets of this delightful Roman walled market town.

Mal Pas Beach has fine golden sand hardly 100 metres long less than 5 minutes' drive away. Facing the Bay of Pollensa, enjoy the perfect afternoon sitting on a sun lounger soaking up that Spanish sun and those views. The crescent shaped bays of Alcudia and Playa de Muro have all the facilities you need to enjoy a lazy day on the sun kissed sand. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols to hire, so that you can appreciate the stunning coastline while enjoying the warm Mediterranean waters. The nearby beach of Puerto Pollensa is a must for keen beach lovers. The huge expanse of sand and crystal-clear water are ideal for sunbathing and swimming, with a view of the mountain range in the distance.

Family fun

In the local Port of Alcudia with its stylish marina, you will find lots of boat excursions with glass bottomed boats and catamarans awaiting to sail you out on the beautiful Mediterranean waters while enjoying the stunning coastline. Puerto Pollensa offers scuba diving, sailing lessons and jet skis. For gentler pursuits you can enjoy the pedoloes and cycling along the promenade. Nearby the resort of Alcudia features its own waterpark, the equestrian centre for horse-riding and a large Go-Karting track can also be accessed.

Places of interest

In the east of the island, visit the Caves of Drach which houses Europe's largest underground lake. The city of Palma is a beautiful city, where you can visit historic sites such as the Gothic cathedral, the artist Miro's gallery or Bellver Castle. The old town of Pollensa makes an interesting visit, with its 365 Calvary steps up to the small church perched at the top of the town. Equally a trip to La Victoria monastery, which is a short drive away, affords spectacular views of the Tramuntana mountains and coastline. The exciting Jakob Foundation is only a short distance away by car and has many artefacts, sculptures and paintings by the artist, plus a "wishing tree" especially planted by Yoko Ono.

The stunning golf course of Alcanada is easily reached and considered one of the best in Europe. With sweeping views of the stunning Alcudia Bay, you can enjoy the spectacular coastline during a round of golf. On the other side of the peninsula is Pollensa Golf Course which is smaller but still impressive with its club house, swimming pool and views of the Puig Maria hillside.

Other activities

Bird watching in the S'Albufera park, paragliding and hiking in the Tramuntanas are all available to try in and around the vicinity. Or why not visit some of the island's wine cellars, where you can sample some of the local wines and learn how they are produced? Cycling is also popular with plenty of hire shops providing all you require to get out and discover the island on 2 wheels.
