Villa Description

Swimming pool, pool terrace and sunbathing area

The swimming pool is surrounded by sun loungers where you can sit with a cool drink or relax taking in the countryside. The terrace is slightly raised from the swimming pool, with a fence and gate at the top of the steps. To one side of the terrace there is a brick BBQ and a table and chairs for those days spent dining alfresco. If you fancy being more active you can also enjoy a game on the tennis court where there's shared access with 3 other villas. Basic rackets and balls are provided.

Entrance

The front of the villa is edged with hedging and colourful bougainvillea, and a short driveway slopes up to a partially covered parking area at the side of the house for your hire car.

Living space

The main entrance opens into the living area with the lounge on the right and dining area and open plan, fully equipped kitchen on the left. The villa has comfortable furnishings, traditional style décor and beamed ceilings.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Both bedrooms are situated on the first floor and are comfortably furnished, with sloping ceilings, fitted wardrobes, and views over the orchards to the far side of the valley. There is 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, which share a separate bathroom with an overhead shower. Downstairs, just off the lounge there is also a shower room.

First floor terrace

A door from the landing opens onto a large terrace running the length of the villa, with marvellous views across the orchards to the woodland in the distance.

Villa Caracole enjoys an enviable location in the quaint resort of Guia - home of the famous spicy chicken piri piri - 3 ¼ miles North West of Albufeira. Situated on the hillside with marvellous countryside views, Villa Caracole is within easy reach of the resorts' facilities and Castelo's beautiful golden beach by car.

Villa Caracole enjoys a secluded location perched on the Guia hillside within a citrus farm, reached by a narrow cul-de-sac lane. The centre of Guia (2 miles East) has numerous restaurants and is renowned for its' speciality dish - spicy chicken piri piri.

There is a choice of lovely beaches within a 15 minute drive, ranging from the sandy expanses of Galé and Praia Grande to picturesque coves such as Castelo and Coelho, all with snack bar/restaurants.

Albufeira lies 3 ¼ miles to the South East, nowadays a thriving tourist area, but where evidence of Moorish history can still be seen along its narrow cobbled streets.

The older part of Albufeira is ideal to get a taste of the past: narrow streets, handicraft shops, tiny cottages painted in traditional Algarve colours. Markets sell locally caught fish and fresh produce from the local fields – all this alongside the wide shopping streets and lively atmosphere of a popular holiday resort. It also boasts a beautiful and expansive sandy beach, flanked by dramatic cliffs and rock formations.

Past Albufeira is the neighbouring resort of Praia D’Oura with its' thriving nightlife scene. 8 ½ miles South West is Armaçao de Pera; another resort town boasting an impressive large, golden beach.

For a great family day out there is a choice of waterslide parks and the Zoomarine aquarium and dolphin show. For golfers the nearest course is Salgados, just over 5 miles away.

For those wishing to explore more widely, Villa Caracole’s central location means that almost anywhere across the Algarve can be reached in an hour or so by car.

Zoomarine

Zoomarine is an exotic marine life theme park home to hundreds of fantastic and fascinating sea creatures. The park includes dolphins, sea lions, turtles, a shark, a museum and an alligator farm as well as a mini-zoo, exotic birds and tropical fish.

Some of the best shows in Europe are staged at Zoomarine such as sea lion, dolphin and eagle shows. It is advisable to arrive early and plan an itinerary for the day.

It is also possible to interact with dolphins but it is advisable to call at least 2 days in advance. Even though it is costable, it is very popular.

Entertainment at the theme park also includes fairground rides, swimming pools, shops and a cinema.

Zoomarine is situated at KM65 close to Albufeira on the main N125 road between Pera and Guia. The park is in a tranquil setting offset by gardens and lakes. Tel: 200 351 289 560 300.

Gale Beach watersports

To one side of Gale beach is a cluster of rock formations, caves and shallow rock pools to explore, popular with children. To the other side you will find a host of watersports facilities including water skiing, banana boats, parasailing and jet ski hire. There is also a small selection of snack bars and restaurants to choose from.

Salgados golf course

One of the many courses in the Algarve, it was once an aircraft landing strip and wetland area beside a bird sanctuary.

It has been compared to both a Scottish links course and a water-filled Florida course and if you enjoy water challenges this course is for you.

The par 4 seventh is rated amongst the best holes in Portugal. The final three holes decrease in difficulty allowing golfers to ease up after a testing first 15.

Krazy World

Krazy World has a Crazy Golf course which features a whopping 36 holes. There is a petting farm where you can hold snakes, take pony rides, touch camels, kangaroos and parrots. Swimming pools provide the opportunity to cool off.

Aqualand Waterslide Park

Formerly known as 'The Big One,' Aqualand has spectacular gardens and is probably the largest waterpark in the Algarve.

The names of the slides give you an idea of what to expect – Hydra, Raging Rapids, Banzai Boggan, Kamikaze, Surf Beach, Rainbow Park, Crazy Leap, Crazy Race &, Congo River! Users of the Kamikaze slide fall 26 metres vertically to the pool below in only four seconds!
