Villa Description
Swimming pool, pool terrace and sunbathing area

There is a gated private pool perfect for a leisurely swim or kick-back and soak up some summer sun on one of the sun loungers. A spacious lawn area in front of the pool allows the children to run around on or a summer picnic. There is a small garden gate from here which opens onto a small lawn area and covered terrace. You'll find a dining table with chairs and a brick BBQ to the side, perfect for cooking those delicious meals and dining alfresco. There are also games tables which are great for family fun challenges.


Entrance

This semi-detached villa has a off road parking space for your hire car, a door from here leads to the rear of the villa with the front door beneath the covered terrace.


Living space

The open plan living, and dining area is tastefully furnished with leather sofas, a flat screen TV and a feature fireplace. The dining table is to one side, ideal for evening dinners after a lazy day spent by the pool. There are 2 set of patio doors which open on to the covered terrace and keep the room bright with natural light.


Kitchen

The adjacent kitchen is fully equipped with wooden units and grey marble worktops - you will have all you need for preparing those delicious meals. A separate door from here opens onto the covered terrace, allowing easy access to the BBQ and alfresco dining area.


Bedrooms and bathrooms

This villa compromises of 2 spacious bedrooms located all on one floor, making this the perfect choice for families with younger children. You'll find a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a twin bedroom which makes use of a separate shower room.

Villa Location
Villa Miguel is a semi-detached villa located in the countryside with a few restaurants, cafes and a mini market within a short drive. The beaches of Lourenco and Gale are within 5 minutes' drive with glorious white sand great for simply soaking up that Portuguese sun. If you feel like venturing a little further afield, Albufeira is 10 minutes' drive away. It has a spectacular beach, a selection of shops and restaurants lined down the cobbled streets of the Old Town, as well as a picturesque marina.

Local markets and shopping

There is a mini market a couple minutes' drive away, or for a bigger shop you'll find a supermarket a further 5 minutes' drive away. For serious shoppers, there is a commercial shopping centre in Guia with well known brands such as Zara, Nike and plenty more. There is a local market every Tuesday between Praia D'Oura and the old town of Albufeira where you can pick up souvenirs for your loved ones. The older part of Albufeira is ideal to get a taste of the past with its narrow streets, handicraft shops and traditional buildings painted in Algarve colours.


Bars and restaurants

There are a few restaurants and cafes nearby however if you wish to venture further the centre of Guia is less than 10 minutes' drive away and has some excellent restaurants to try. As the birthplace of chicken piri piri, this is a must try dish. Further afield, the old town of Albufeira has many bars and restaurants to suit a range of tastes spread along the maze of streets.


Beaches

The nearest beaches are Gale and Castelo, just 5 minutes' drive away. Several other lovely beaches are located along this stretch of coastline, such as Coelha, Praia Grande, Salgados and Sao Rafael. All of these beaches offer a mix of golden stretches and hidden coves, frequently scattered with limestone caves and grottoes. There are plenty of sunbeds with parasols for hire, perfect for soaking up that Portguse sunshine. A great way to discover as many Algarve beaches as possible is to hop on a boat available at one of the beaches.


Family fun

Albufeira Marina also has plenty of choice for activities to try from dolphin watching to paragliding and kayaking. The popular Zoomarine is perfect for a day out, and just a 10 minute drive from the villa. It is a marine life theme park, home to hundreds of fantastic and fascinating sea creatures, exotic birds and tropical fish. Parque Aventura, situated in Santa Eulalia, Albufeira, comprises of a paintball centre and various adventure courses through the trees made up of zip wires, bridges and ropes.


Places of interest

The Sand City is the largest sand sculpture exhibition and it hosts the FIESA International. Every year, a group of talented sculptors from various parts of the world join in the art of sand sculpting. These artists make use of 45,000 tons of sand, in an area of 15,000 square meters. The city is magical, more than an exhibition of sculptures, it is a sensorial experience that is worth a visit.


Golf

Golf enthusiasts must try Salgados Golf, a remarkable course that was once an aircraft landing strip. Set on a wetland and next to a bird sanctuary, this challenging course is just a 10 minute drive from the villa.

Salgados golf course
One of the many courses in the Algarve, it was once an aircraft landing strip and wetland area beside a bird sanctuary.

It has been compared to both a Scottish links course and a water-filled Florida course and if you enjoy water challenges this course is for you.

The par 4 seventh is rated amongst the best holes in Portugal. The final three holes decrease in difficulty allowing golfers to ease up after a testing first 15.

Zoomarine
Zoomarine is an exotic marine life theme park home to hundreds of fantastic and fascinating sea creatures. The park includes dolphins, sea lions, turtles, a shark, a museum and an alligator farm as well as a mini-zoo, exotic birds and tropical fish.

Some of the best shows in Europe are staged at Zoomarine such as sea lion, dolphin and eagle shows. It is advisable to arrive early and plan an itinerary for the day.

It is also possible to interact with dolphins but it is advisable to call at least 2 days in advance. Even though it is costable, it is very popular.

Entertainment at the theme park also includes fairground rides, swimming pools, shops and a cinema.

Zoomarine is situated at KM65 close to Albufeira on the main N125 road between Pera and Guia. The park is in a tranquil setting offset by gardens and lakes. Tel: 200 351 289 560 300.

Sand Sculpture Festival
The International Sand Sculpture Festival, held in Pera, takes place every year from May to October. The festival celebrates a different theme each year and takes the 50 international artists 8 weeks to prepare for! The exhibitions are an impressive sight both during the day and at night when the sculptures are illuminated with coloured lights. The exhibits are fantastic and are created by artists from all over the world - great fun for all the family!

Krazy World
Krazy World has a Crazy Golf course which features a whopping 36 holes. There is a petting farm where you can hold snakes, take pony rides, touch camels, kangaroos and parrots. Swimming pools provide the opportunity to cool off.

Aqualand Waterslide Park
Formerly known as 'The Big One,' Aqualand has spectacular gardens and is probably the largest waterpark in the Algarve.

The names of the slides give you an idea of what to expect – Hydra, Raging Rapids, Banzai Boggan, Kamikaze, Surf Beach, Rainbow Park, Crazy Leap, Crazy Race &, Congo River! Users of the Kamikaze slide fall 26 metres vertically to the pool below in only four seconds!

Booked villa only and everything was excellent. Very familiar with the area and I would recommend a car . Nice restaurants and the beach is 15 walk .

The villa was lovely - very well located and very clean. The gated pool gave us great peace of mind and kept our children away from the pool when we weren't in it enjoying the great Algarve weather. We would definitely stay in this villa again.
