Villa Location
This charming villa is located in the countryside, 15 minutes' drive from Martina Franca where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and fine Baroque architecture. Both Alberobello and Locorotondo are 20 minutes' drive away, home to the distinctive conical trulli, which are protected by UNESCO. There are several other delightful places to visit, with perhaps the most popular being Ostuni which has several impressive churches, plenty of piazzas and interesting streets and alleys to explore. Our villa Trulli Isabella is on the same lane.

Location features

Local markets and shopping

The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes' drive away where you can pick up your holiday essentials. Every Wednesday, a market takes place in Martina Franca, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, shoes, handbags and more. It's also worth checking out the local fishmongers, butchers and greengrocers in the town.

Bars and restaurants

Several restaurants and pizzerias can be found in the historical centre, as well as pubs and wine shops where you can try the local food. One of the oldest cafes in Puglia is in the heart of Martina Franca and has a small outside terrace, perfect for people watching with coffee and a cake. Don't miss the famous barbequing butchers of Cisternino. Simply select your meat of choice and sit back and enjoy the spectacle with a glass of wine in hand.

Beaches

Puglia is renowned for offering some of the best beaches and clearest waters on the mainland. Martina Franca is only 30 minutes' drive from the Adriatic Coast, where the shoreline alternates between rocky coves and small sandy bays. From the imposing cliffs of Polignano a Mare to the gentle sand dunes south of Torre Canne, there is something to suit everyone. If you are heading to the coast, the best place to sample the fish restaurants is Savelletri.

Family fun

The Egnazia Waterpark close to Monopoli and Zoosafari Fasanolandia, a safari park and theme park, are both within 40 minutes' drive from the villa. There is also horse riding available at the Centro Ippico Parco di Mare in Fasano. The Grotte di Castellana is a must visit. These spectacular limestone caves are an incredible range of underground landscapes, with extraordinary formations - look out for the jellyfish, the bacon and the stocking!

Places of interest

Alberobello, 30 minutes away by car, is famous for conical-roofed trulli houses which have UNESCO protection. It's a great place to wander around with its narrow pedestrianised streets, little shops selling local produce and souvenirs, plus cafes and restaurants. A 10 minute drive away, you'll find Locorotondo in the Vale d'Itria, a green stretch of countryside also dotted with trulli and farms. It is regarded as one of the prettiest towns in Italy with flower pots and window boxes bursting with colour.

Golf

The nearest golf course is San Domenico by the Adriatic Sea. Considered one of the finest in Italy, it's a 40 minute drive away from the villa.

Other activities

Ostuni, around 45 minutes' drive away is dubbed 'the White City'. Its intricate network of narrow lanes wind along rows of white-washed buildings, past prestigious palaces and open into grand piazzas. There are plenty of gift shops where you can pick up the odd souvenir plus gelaterias and restaurants throughout the town.

There are also plenty of cycling and walking trails around the countryside and along the coast - a relaxed way to enjoy Puglia and its gentle pace of life.

Activity

Activity
Grotte di Castellana
The limestone of Puglia has been worn away for 100,000 years creating caves and grottoes across the region, many of which have been turned into churches and visitor attractions. Grotte di Castellana is by far the largest with a network of nearly 2 miles. A guided tour takes around 2 hours or there is a shorter option of about 50 minutes.
Activity
Ostuni
The most popular of the white towns of the region, it’s located on a hill facing the sea with a mixture of wide open piazzas lined with cafes and restaurants and narrow streets and alleyways, ideal for wandering and finding souvenirs. At the heart of the old town is a very impressive cathedral decorated outside with Baroque era carvings. Climb a short way up the slope past the cathedral to admire the ornate 18th century bridge which links two parts of a former palazzo.
Activity
San Domeico Golf
The San Domenico is located by the Adriatic Sea and  is considered  the best in Italy. This 18 hole championship club measures over 6300 meters, has a par of 72 and has been constructed to the highest standards, with greens conforming to USGA Specifications.
